FAQ

1. What is LIT Teeth Whitening?

At Lit Teeth Whitening we use innovative LED laser technology paired with our all-natural and plant-based teeth whitening solution to remove layers of teeth staining. During each session, you can expect to see a lighter, brighter smile, up to 14 shades whiter (with an average improvement being five to eight shades.) Individual results vary based on current teeth composition and shade.

2. Why would I need my teeth whitened?

Your smile is often the first thing that others notice and remember about you. Teeth whitening is recommended to remove stains and unwanted discoloration of teeth.

3. What does LIT Teeth Whitening involve?

An easy 30-45 minute session depending on the current shade and desired shade of your teeth. While each session is painless, some clients (particularly those who may be dehydrated) may experience mild sensitivity for 24-48 hours following treatment, often with hot or cold foods. We do offer a more gentle but still very effective secondary LED option for those considered about sensitivity.

4. How can I look after my teeth once they’ve been whitened?

A detailed post-treatment care and recommended diet sheet will be given to you after the whitening session. Please be aware that all clients will need to remain on an all-white (plain-colored) food diet for 48 hours following service as teeth are temporarily more porous and therefore able to absorb more of the pigment to which they are exposed. This is a critical step to staining your new fresh white smile.

5. How long will my teeth stay white after treatment?

Most clients schedule an initial two to four visits spaced out by six to eight weeks, until they reach their optimal shade of whiteness. With proper maintenance and one to two touch ups a year, results can last a lifetime.

6. Is LIT Teeth Whitening safe?

Our teeth whitening process is FDA approved, safe and effective. The teeth whitening gel we use is all natural and plant-based. We do not change the structure of the teeth, simply just lift stains to unveil a whiter smile!

7. Does whitening your teeth damage your enamel?

No.

8. Does LIT Teeth Whitening work on crowns and fillings?

Yes, our process will return your existing stained dental work back to its original color.

9. Can anyone whiten their teeth?

Anyone 12 and older that it is in good health and not currently pregnant.

10. Should I get my teeth whitened before or after I get my new crown?

We recommend that you whiten before the dental work so that your crown or veneer can best match your desired tooth shade when you go for dental appointment.

11. How can I make my results last longer?

By following post care instructions and keeping up with periodic touch up treatments.
